Why is finding the perfect foundation so hard? I'm always surprised when I choose the right shade for my skin tone and have to wonder if it's some divine miracle. I mean seriously, how can people pick the perfect shade for their skin just by looking at the bottle? Right now, I mix three different foundations to get the perfect shade (which I know is so ridiculous), but it's a result of buying 3 different foundations that were close to my skin tone, but not quite perfect. I'll admit, I go through phases of liking foundations, but the following three have been my favorite for quite a while.
Loreal Infallible 24HR Pro-Matte Foundation is a must have for anyone who will be wearing makeup for over 8 hours. I love this foundation as someone who has very oily skin. It's a medium coverage foundation with a matte finish. They also make a hydrating option for girls with dry skin! This foundation really does last 24 hours without breaking up. I tend to mix this foundation with my NYX BB cream because the foundation is a little to matte for my personal taste. Don't be afraid to mix your foundations!
NYX BB Cream is my absolute favorite foundation. It's light weight and improves the texture of your skin overtime. It feels like your wearing nothing at all, which I love! I have tried dozens of BB creams and this is the only one I will wear. This foundation's single downfall is it comes in only three shades; light, medium, and dark. Thankfully, it blends well so don't worry if the color isn't the exact color of your skin.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation is a new one for me. I was browsing Sephora and put a dab of this only my hand and was instantly amazed. My skin felt like satin. It's more expensive than the others, but a little goes a long way so it will last you longer. It has a light-medium coverage, but is completely buildable if you want a more full coverage look. It's made of 20% water and provides a semi-matte finish. It really does look beautiful on your skin and they have a large variety of colors. I would say the only thing I don't like about this foundation is the way it settles on my nose after a long day of wearing it. I have larger pores and oily skin and this foundation tends to break up in my most oily areas, like my nose. When I wear this foundation I usually apply it everywhere but my T-zone and use my NYX BB Cream for that area.
All of these foundations are beautiful used on their own, or you can mix them all together like I tend to do.
